I had a highly unprofessional experience with Europcar Umeå. Six months after my rental ended (August 2025), I received a surprise invoice in February 2026 for 835 SEK. The most concerning part is the lack of consistency in their claims: The Invoice: Stated the charge was for "Extra Hours," implying a late return. I proved this was false with my flight confirmation and GPS data showing the car was returned exactly at 07:45 as planned. The Customer Service: Once I disproved the late return, they changed their story, claiming the fee was actually an "After Hours Charge" for a 2:00 PM Saturday pickup. Charging a "full-day" equivalent fee for a pickup during mid-day Saturday at an airport is predatory, and billing it half a year later is unacceptable. If you use this station, keep every piece of evidence (GPS logs and flight tickets) because they may try to bill you for "mistakes" long after you’ve left Sweden. Very disappointed in the administrative chaos and the shifting justifications for these charges.
