Sehr gutes Hotel direkt im Zentrum. Alles ist fußläufig gut erreichbar. Gutes Frühstück. Nur saß Rührei ist leider aus Pulver & für mich nicht gut.

Posting this review for other Americans who have limited to no experience traveling in Europe/Scandinavia. This was my first time outside the U.S. in over a decade, having only ever traveled to South America. This hotel was a great choice. Positives: -BREAKFAST. It's not included, but you should 100% pay the per-day cost to eat breakfast at the hotel. It truly puts American continental breakfast to shame. There is a massive spread of eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, vegetables, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, rolls, croissants, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, meats, juices, coffee, tea, etc. They have every kind of milk alternative you could imagine (oat, rice, almond, etc.) and substantial vegan/vegetarian options. Allergens are clearly listed (which was important as I was traveling with a friend with a severe tree nut allergy). Staff was friendly and helpful and brought cranberry/ginger "energy shots" around the room throughout breakfast. This was hands down my favorite part of staying here. -BEDS. They are small (twins) but very comfortable. I was surprised. If you are an American used to staying in queen/king-sized beds or suite-style hotel rooms, book the "family" room here. It is the closest you'll get to what a "normal" hotel room feels like for us, and you can fully separate the twin beds if you are not traveling as a couple (this may not be true for the non-family rooms, I can't confirm). -LOCATION. Malmo is very easy to get around on public transportation. You are a three-minute walk across the square to a bus stop (Gustav Adolf Torg) that can take you just about anywhere, including to a train station that'll take you to and from Copenhagen in about a half hour, or further north up to Lund or another city. -STAFF. Very friendly and helpful and they speak great English. Less positives/things for Americans to note: -TEMPERATURE CONTROL. No A/C. This is common in most of Europe. If you go in the cooler months, it's no big deal. You can just open a window when it gets stuffy inside. However, this also means you will hear the city noise (people talking/shouting, buses, construction, etc.). So bring earplugs and a variety of sleep clothes to account for temperature fluctuations. -SHOWERS. This could be because we ended up in an accessible room, but the showers are not what you expect in the U.S. It's very small and water gets everywhere because there's just a slight indent in the floor for it to drain. Good hot water though, just don't be looking for any luxurious showers :) -CLEANING. The place is extremely clean - all of Sweden is, really. They don't clean your room unless requested as they are very environmentally friendly/opposed to waste. We only requested a cleaning once in a six-night stay and it was totally fine. Just something to be aware of. Overall I would recommend this place! There are other Scandic hotels in the region (I believe it is a chain), so if they are anything like this one, you should have a safe bet. Tack for the great stay, Scandic St. Jorgen!
