I brought a family heirloom wedding veil to this atelier. This veil had been worn at the weddings of my fiancé’s mother and grandmother, and their names are embroidered on it. I wanted to continue this family tradition by having our names embroidered on the same veil before my wedding. Because it was for my wedding, I had a fixed deadline. I came to the atelier in the middle of June, giving more than a month before my requested collection date of 16 July. I was told that the embroidery would normally take almost two months because there were many orders and the work was very delicate. Since my wedding was before that, I offered to pay an additional 200 SEK if my order could be prioritized and completed by 16 July. So the total price was 1000 SEK. She accepted and confirmed that she would have it ready by then. On 14 July, two days before the agreed collection date, I visited the atelier to make sure everything was on track. I asked if everything was under control and whether the veil would be ready. Once again, I was told not to worry and that it would be ready on 16 July. When I came to collect the veil on 16 July, I was told that the work had not been done because the paper with the names was missing and she did not know what names to embroider. What is difficult to understand is that when she called me earlier and told me she had lost the paper with the deadline, we discussed the situation and I clearly reminded her of the date. She confirmed that she would complete the work. Then, two days before collection, when I came to check if everything was under control, she again assured me that everything was fine and that the veil would be ready. This gave me the impression that she was already working on it or that everything was under control. In reality, the work had not even been started. The veil was apparently left untouched for weeks, and I lost valuable time because I trusted that the work was being taken care of. Because of this, I no longer had time to find someone else to complete this important wedding detail. This experience showed a serious lack of responsibility and communication. Mistakes can happen, but when a customer trusts you with something irreplaceable and repeatedly asks if everything is on track, it is essential to be honest and proactive.
