I was really excited to try Björk and Berries because the fragrance descriptions are so beautiful and evocative. I also thought it was a really nice touch that they included Ros as a bonus with the starter pack. I appreciated that gesture! Unfortunately, I found that the actual scents didn't live up to the expectations created by their descriptions. For example: Fjällsjö is described as clean cotton and sun-warmed skin after a cold swim, which led me to expect something soft, clean, and comforting. On my skin, however, it smelled much more watery, mineral, and almost metallic. Mareld came across as a rather minty scent. Ros was presented as earthy and never sweet, but I find it genuinely quite sweet. Although it does settle into a lovely, upscale feminine scent, the sweetness is much more noticeable than I expected based on the description. I was also disappointed by the starter-pack voucher. A $45 voucher toward a full-size bottle might sound generous, but the bottles still cost over $100 even after the discount. That is a significant amount of money, and the voucher doesn't make a full-size fragrance affordable for me. Overall, I appreciate that fragrances are subjective and smell different on different people, but I expected the scents to be closer to their descriptions. The beautiful storytelling created high expectations that the actual fragrances didn't meet for me. While I appreciated the thoughtful bonus, the overall experience was more disappointing than I had hoped.
