We stayed in the View Suite at VYN and it was honestly one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in. The suite is very spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully designed, with a real feeling of luxury. The bathtub with a view, the sea view from the room and all the small details made it a very special place to stay.
The whole hotel has the feeling of a small and very well-designed boutique hotel. Beautiful interiors, lovely scents throughout the hotel and a very calm atmosphere.
Breakfast is served as a set menu, but there is definitely more than enough food and you can order more if you want. The quality of the products is excellent and everything we had was delicious. Breakfast is served in the same restaurant as lunch and dinner, so you can enjoy the beautiful view again in the morning.
We also had lunch at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant VYN. Overall, it was a very good experience and a confident two-star restaurant.
The meal developed nicely throughout the experience. It started with the amuse-bouches in the beautiful lounge with its high ceiling and excellent acoustics. The first bites were good, although rather simple and not particularly memorable. Once we moved into the dining room, the savory courses became more interesting and refined. The room itself has a wonderful view, although with the lower ceiling it is noticeably louder than the lounge.
For us, the desserts were actually the strongest part of the menu and gave the meal a very nice finish. There was a clear progression from the first bites to the savory courses and finally to the desserts.
The service was very professional, although more on the formal and slightly distant side.
Overall, VYN delivered a very good and polished dining experience that feels completely deserving of its two Michelin stars. Together with the beautiful setting, the views and especially the exceptional View Suite, it made for a very enjoyable stay.
I had the opportunity to dine at VYN, Daniel Berlin’s restaurant, a place I had been following for quite some time and, after three years, finally had the chance to experience.
And perhaps the first thing I thought when I arrived was exactly what would stay with me throughout the entire experience:
how easy everything looks when it is done well.
From the moment you arrive, everything feels considered.
You are welcomed with a drink, given the wine list, and invited to take your time before the evening begins.
There is nothing excessive.
Nothing trying to impress you.
Everything feels natural.
And then dinner begins.
VYN is one of those places where there is no need to say too much.
You simply have to live the experience.
Personally, these are exactly the kind of restaurants I love most.
Everything seems very simple.
But let’s not confuse simple with easy.
Quite the opposite.
The place is understated, elegant and, above all, incredibly harmonious. It doesn’t try to prove anything. It simply is what it is.
And that same philosophy can be felt in the team and in Daniel Berlin: incredibly respectful, humble people who speak when they have something to say and don’t feel the need to fill every moment with words.
And I think that is precisely one of VYN’s greatest strengths.
In a world where we are constantly surrounded by information, explanations, stimulation and the need to talk all the time, it is wonderful to find places where the work speaks for itself.
And at VYN, the work speaks.
Dinner was an emotional experience from beginning to end.
A dish would arrive at the table, they would explain three ingredients, and that was it.
The rest was left in your hands.
To find.
To discover.
To feel.
And that is exactly what happened.
There was emotion.
From the snacks in the first room, with the kitchen in full view and that feeling of almost being in someone’s living room, to the main dining room, with the view of the sea, the lights, the music and all those small details that ultimately come together to create a complete experience.
The choice of tableware, cutlery, service, lighting, music…
Everything seems to be exactly where it should be, without anything trying too hard to draw attention to itself.
And perhaps that is precisely where the magic lies.
Nothing seems to be shouting, “look at me.”
Everything simply works.
It was truly one of my best dining experiences of the entire year.
And then I am left with one question:
If it doesn’t have three Michelin stars yet, is it simply a matter of time?
I don’t know.
But personally, I feel that VYN is something even more difficult to measure with stars.
It is VYN.
It is Daniel Berlin.
And perhaps the clearest sign of what this experience meant to me is something much simpler:
Since leaving, I have only been thinking about when I can come back.
Something happened there.
Something that doesn’t need much explanation.
Something you simply have to experience.
En app jag använder hittade hit och räknar kalorier från mina foton. Fågelrätten med kål hade lagom med protein och smakade bra. Lokalen är enkel och lugn.
Fabulous restaurant & hotel, with an amazing staff that just takes it beyond! The dinner was simply amazing! I would have left 5 ⭐️ for the room, but had a minor issue with some shower flooding.
