My experience with TRR at Centralen has unfortunately been quite disappointing. For example, during the summer, they state online - including on Google Maps - that they’re open, when in reality the staff are away on vacation and the office is closed. I’ve commuted there only to find the doors locked, with no clear notice or update. That lack of communication is frustrating, especially for job seekers who are trying to stay active and focused. Even when the office is open, access is controlled in a way that feels unnecessarily strict. You have to be let in each time with the explanation of “fire safety,” yet public libraries and other shared workspaces manage just fine without such measures. It feels more about controlling movement than ensuring safety. Inside, the environment is not particularly welcoming. Staff members regularly walk around checking people’s faces, and I’ve even had someone stand behind me while I was printing. It doesn’t create a space of trust or concentration - more like surveillance. It’s also unfortunate that the space is closed on Fridays. For many, having a quiet place to work, apply for jobs, or just feel part of a professional environment is essential. Closing every Friday feels like a missed opportunity to provide real support. When it comes to actual help finding a job, the consultants often lack specific industry knowledge. They send out generic advice or motivational messages, but without a real understanding of your field, it’s hard to see the value. It often feels like surface-level coaching dressed up as personalized support. Overall, TRR Centralen doesn’t feel like a place designed to empower professionals - more like a controlled space with limited actual value. I expected more.
