Overall nice tour and we saw some deer BUT on the „moose safari“ you spent no more than 5min in total maybe, looking for moose. The whole tour mainly exists of driving 1h outside of Stockholm into a nature reserve. You make a campfire, have dinner together and then walk aimlessly around the forest and learn a bit about the plants and trees and stuff. Then you have a Fika (instant coffee/tee + cookies) and then you walk back to the van to basically directly drive back to Stockholm. We did stop once (!?) for a minute or so to look for moose - none visible? - „okay, let’s go back tot he city.“ // Moose do come out of the forest on the field during the dusk and at night…I felt this tour was just bloated and all the stuff they did was just to kill time until it’s late and the tour was over. „Oh, well…“ I was really disappointed, especially regarding the amount of money I paid!! It was not a moose-safari but rather „spent 4h in the forest with a group“. I’d say it’s a waste of money.

We had a wonderful time kayaking through the archipelago with Paul. Light rain at the start didn't phase us at all and only added to the experience. Delicious lunch, hike to a lookout tower with views, fun stop in pontoon formation for a Fika break, and some fanciful bird-spotting here and there. I didn't want it to end. Our guide Paul took great care of us and even told us some funny jokes. I highly recommend this trip and would love to do it again some day. Thank you, Paul!

Pretty disappointing to be honest. The guides were lovely and had a generally a pleasant experience, but it shouldn’t really be advertised as a Moose Safari. Two thirds of the day is spent not actually encountering any wild life. After meeting around 3:30pm, you drive for about an hour, and stop at a reserve just outside of the city, and make a campfire. You spent about 2 hours here.The guides cover how to make a fire with a flint and make some wraps on a fire for dinner. After dinner there’s about a 90 minute walk through the reserve where we learnt about the surrounding forest and foraged some berries. The drive home at sunset which was the safari, was just driving across highways an hour outside of Stockholm looking for moose and deer in the surrounding fields. For context you drive around in an Hyundai minivan, so expect to only really drive in well paved roads. Our group wasn’t successful in seeing Moose, which I appreciate is always a chance with wildlife encounters. But driving in a van in major roads to see deer annd hopefully Moose far in the distance isn’t really the wild life experience that is advertised. There is virtually no wildlife seen (either up close or in the distance) while on foot; the reserves used are the same trails used by children in school trips to learn ahi it foraging. While the guides were good fun, and the hike was pleasant, I didn’t really need to pay 1000 SEK or 80 GBP per person to walk around a reserve (not even a national park) and be driven on major country roads (think paved highways). I appreciate the guiding team for their pleasant attitude and good humour, and if you want a guided walk through a reserve and are happy to pay, this is an option. But I can’t say I recommend this as a wildlife watching experience and definitely wouldn’t call this a safari. It’s a very expensive walk through a reserve, not wilderness, and not a wildlife safari. I think the charisma and passion of the guides are what makes this a tolerable experience. Wish I had read the lower rated reviews more prior to booking as they reflex more accurately what to expect.

We did the full day hiking tour with Paul and had a lovely time. He is a wealth of knowledge regarding the Swedish outdoors and pointed out many interesting plants and animals along the way. The hike was very doable- we covered about 5 miles and around 600 ft of elevation gain over the course of the day with about an hour stop for campfire and lunch. Would highly recommend!

I would like to say a huge thank you to Julia who was my guide for the Moose and Wildlife Safari a couple of weeks ago! This experience was really worthwhile and definitely made the Stockholm section of my trip. 

Julia took us to a lovely area in the forest and got us practicing our campfire skills before we ate a delicious and filling dinner. Then, we had a 2-hour walk in the national park, where Julia’s enthusiasm for nature shone through as she stopped us to explain various features of the Swedish landscape, such as plants, geology and signs of animal presence. She answered everybody’s questions with ease and passion. We then stopped at a beautiful spot where she surprised us with fika! After the walk, we went on a night drive to try and spot some wildlife. We were successful with sightings of roe and fallow deer, hares and also a moose! It was quite far in the distance but it was still awesome to see. I recommend wearing hiking boots and go without wildlife expectations - moose sightings are not guaranteed, but we were lucky. We were provided with binoculars so you don’t need to bring your own, and your clothes will have a whiff of campfire afterwards (which I love!). It’s a great excursion and I would definitely do it again next time I’m in Stockholm!
