Classic pub in a great central and quiet location by the canal. They have lots of local beers on tap and a smaller selection of imported ones. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the pub itself is really welcoming, it was a good stop for some beers.

Old-fashioned, classic pub feel to this place. Friendly bar staff (older guy, chatty and friendly but don't know his name sorry) and LOADS of beers on tap to choose from, quite a lot of local beers which is great, and imported ones too. Atmosphere was good, seems to be a popular after-work place. Would recommend calling in here for a beer or two. We didn't eat here so can't comment on food, but saw plenty of others eating.

The pub has one thing (and only one thing) going for it. They open one hour before the competition. They have South Plains and other related brands on tap due to ownership. I am yet to try a tasty beer from them. Bought a bunch back in 2013. Most of them I ended up being poured down the drain. Tried two new ones today (2026). Both pretty challenging on the palate to be honest. Update after the owner comment: His ability to read is on par with his ability to brew. Selling a decent amount of bad beer is not necessarily a sign of quality. So, please go ahead and give the bar a spin. Then we can meet up att Hyllie around the corner for a proper beer afterward.
