We had a fantastic experience here, Mom and teenager son. What started as an alternative on a very rainy day went into a fun and inspiring activity. A lot of different topics are taken care of here. We especially loved the astronomy show. Great layout of the expedition area and wonderful staff.

Teknikens Hus is much more interesting than I expected. Before visiting, I thought it would mainly be a science museum for children, but after going there, I would definitely recommend it to adults as well. What makes this place special is how interactive everything is. You can learn about Swedish industry, technology and natural resources through models, demonstrations and many hands-on simulators rather than just looking at displays. There are so many things to try: an underground mining experience, mining simulators, forestry machines and cranes, small RC boats, a Volvo truck simulator, airplane and train simulators, and even a welding simulator. There are also interesting displays explaining electricity production, data centers and other technologies. Younger children have their own areas for crafts and play as well. From photos, the museum may look quite small, but if you take your time, read the information and try all the activities, you could easily spend several hours here. We spent around two hours and managed to try most of the activities, although we didn't have enough time to read everything in detail. It wasn't very crowded when we visited, and we hardly had to wait for anything except the Volvo truck simulator. I would recommend visiting at a quieter time if possible, especially if you want to try the popular simulators without waiting. A really fun and educational place, not only for kids but for adults too. In fact, adults might want to visit without children so they don't have to compete with them for the simulators! 😄 Definitely worth a visit if you're in Luleå.
