Hi Tom, Thanking you for contacting us regarding bank reservations. The background to bank reservations made during refueling is requirements introduced by Visa and Mastercard for all fuel companies in Sweden. St1 has a close dialogue with both our "Payment Solution Provider", which have a close dialogue with the banks issuing Visa and Mastercard. This to ensure that all parties have correct information about the current situation regarding bank reservations. To clarify the situation, we have summarized the process here: Every time you use your Visa or Mastercard, a so-called authorization request is sent to the card issuer (your bank) as soon as you enter the card in the terminal. In connection with this, a reservation of up to SEK 1,500 is made. Your bank will remove the reservation and you will be charged for the exact amount of money you have purchased. The reservation will be removed within a few minutes. If the reservation is not removed, we recommend that you contact your card issuer (your bank) who can help you remove the reservation. St1 has no- and may not have access to your bank details and therefore any clarity regarding your Visa and/or Mastercard is something that you can handle directly with your bank for security reasons. On our website we have clarified a bit more about this and what happens depending on the balance that is avaliable on the account. The card is not affiliated with Visa or MasterCard, but you will instead have a monthly statement and can decide how to pay.
