Smurfit Kappa gruops business leave a trail of ecological devastation and human suffering. To secure raw materials, biodiverse native forests are replaced by sterile monocultures, erasing the local ecosystems that human communities rely on for survival. Beyond the environmental impact, these companies often engage in the systemic marginalization of local populations. Those who resist the land grabs are frequently met with state-sanctioned violence, forced displacements, and intimidation. By prioritizing global supply chains over local sovereignty, these industries treat both the land and its people as disposable resources, sacrificing human rights for corporate profit.
