Den här butiken har nästan alla basvaror, även om den tydligt fokuserar på att sälja godis, läsk och snacks. Det är den enda butiken i Kronan-området, vilket är ett plus. För att komma in loggar du in med ditt bank-ID, vilket kan vara svårt för äldre personer. Jag är förvånad att det inte finns en vanlig butik i Kronan ännu; det har definitivt löst problemet. Sammantaget ger jag den tummen upp!

[Update] Bad summer trouble: when it's really warm and sunny, the store transforms into a sauna, the heat from the freezers further pumping up the temperature. The result: chocolate turns into liquid and I'd guess many other goods take a tough hit as well. One more thing: apparently impossible to get an answer from hello@neverclosed.se [Update] Congrats to Victor, a very young entrepreneur who has opened the first (definitely micro-sized) grocery store in Kronan Luleå! NeverClosed is a franchise firm established in 2021 with dozens of partly or fully unmanned stores in Sweden; the Kronan location is unmanned and the customer entry is enabled by scanning a QR code with the smartphone camera. Identification is then done through the Swedish BankID app or a corresponding Nordic ID service. Before leaving the store, you again use the phone to pay for the items you bought - the payment is done either by using a credit card or through Swish. Everything has been working smoothly for me but I'm definitely looking forward to getting a dedicated key card for entering the store! These are apparently provided free of charge by NeverClosed. This corner store sure is tiny – one room only plus a very small space that, way back, used to be a bathroom. There is just enough space to walk around and the most prominent offerings are snacks, pop, the obligatory 'energy' drinks, candy and frozen meals. The dairy 'department' is very small in comparison. The large freezers create quite a bit of heat in the cramped space so it will be interesting to see how much the indoors temperature goes up when the summer sun starts blazing for real. Anyways, it's just about time for a grocery store in Kronan and a self-service 24-7-365 shop is a good start. Let's hope it's possible for Victor to offer us old (fashioned) folks a bit more balanced range of products later on – we have cravings for milk, cream, filmjölk and plain yoghurt! Also hoping that the space just outside the entrance won't get littered with empty cans, bottles and trash in general. A trash can would be great but then, of course, it needs to be emptied regularily... I also tried the QR code on the inside of the entrance, in order to give some feedback and received the answer: 'QR i deactivated. Get QR subscription expired'. A free QR service trial that ended, perhaps? Finally, just in case you can't cope with the intensive camera surveillance: forget about this micro store and do your shopping some place else during normal open hours! The cameras are obviously kinda in-your-face in the very small space (hey it rhymes!) and I'm pretty sure there is a bunch of AI bots keeping track of the video feeds. However, this is probably the only way to run a business like this.
