After playing my new guitar from Manic Guitars for a few weeks now, I can only conclude one thing: Michael Helgé has delivered an instrument that is in a league of its own. Here are my impressions: Neck and Playability The standout feature of this guitar is undoubtedly the neck. I ordered a custom profile, and Michael nailed the exact feel I was looking for – it sits perfectly in the hand, neither too fat nor too thin. Thanks to the beautifully rolled edges, the neck feels instantly "broken-in" and comfortable. Combined with an impeccable fret job, the result is a guitar that is extremely easy to play, inviting effortless playing across the entire fretboard. Tone and Response The guitar has a fantastic tone with a natural resonance rarely found in mass-produced instruments. It responds incredibly well to my touch, with a dynamic range that allows every nuance of my playing to shine through. It is clear that the materials have been selected with great care and expertise. Craftsmanship and Setup As expected, the guitar was delivered perfectly set up. The action, intonation, and fret leveling are executed with precision. It’s evident that Michael is a fantastic guitarist himself, which contributes to his deep understanding of exactly how an instrument should respond and feel to deliver optimal performance. There is a genuine heart behind the craftsmanship in every single detail. The Experience The entire process, from placing the order to final delivery, has been outstanding. The communication with Michael was excellent throughout; he is professional, attentive, and deeply passionate. What started as a custom order and collaboration has evolved into a new friendship, which makes the guitar even more special to me. Summary Are you looking for a unique instrument built to your exact needs and specifications? Then I highly recommend Manic Guitars. This is truly a guitar that inspires me to play every single day, and it is now officially my "Number 1"! Rating: 5/5
