I recently purchased two LL1948 and two LL1935 signal transformers, and the experience was a disaster in technical care. The Shipping Negligence: Despite these being high-end, shock-sensitive components, the authorized distributor (Audiohobby OÜ) shipped them loose in a paper mailer bag. They arrived audibly clashing and slamming against one another. When I raised concerns about the mechanical shock to the delicate cobalt cores, the distributor claimed this is exactly how they receive the units from the Lundahl factory—essentially implying that "clashing together" is the brand's own delivery standard. Technical Misinformation: When challenged on the potential for core damage, the distributor dismissed the physics of the product entirely, claiming these precision units are "101% impossible to damage even if you hit them with a hammer." Zero Accountability: I contacted Lundahl directly to address these claims. Instead of correcting the misinformation or standing behind the engineering requirements of their own products, Lundahl’s COO responded by hiding behind the "distributor-producer relationship." They completely ignored the fact that their authorized partner is treating €700 components like scrap metal and telling customers they are indestructible. Literally, no comments on the distributor's technical claims of the amorphous cores in LL1948 being unbreakable, even when hit by a hammer. If a brand allows its partners to treat precision-annealed components like gravel—and then refuses to address the technical lies being told in their name- they have lost all integrity. I have returned the units and will be looking to get my transformers from a manufacturer who actually respect the physics of high-end audio. Proceed with caution if you expect your "boutique" transformers to be handled with professional care.
