We did a short journey to Luleå Klätterhuset, with intention to only do some bouldering. So this review is purely based on that. So first of all, the staff was very nice and helpful, and the gym was very clean. Also, there were actualy good weight lifting area with multiple racks and free weights on the second level, so doing any assisting strength training could be easily done in this area. Easily the best strentgh training area I have seen in any other climbing gyms. Also, there were lots of rope climbings available. And the sauna was a big hit on us! And even though it was summer, the air quality was cool enough and dry, so I actually didn't really need to use chalk much at all. However, since our journey was only for the bouldering in mind, I feel that the gym had so much potential, but the overall experience fell very short, with multiple shortcomings. In my opinion, many routes felt actually somewhat boring, as many of them had a feeling like "just crimp/pinch harder and keep moving on", rather than having a more of a technical aspect. As well, the ranking system seemed to be pretty random at various points. Also, I can definitely agree to other people reviews that the gym is not really a beginner friendly. There are very limited amount of lower level routes. Compared to my normal main gym, I usually finish up more lower grade routes in a 10 minute warm-up than there were in total in this gym. I wouldn't bring a total newbie to this gym, as it would be waste of money, and probably not even fun for them. I would proably rank the bouldering section around 2.25 out of 5. Maybe if I were really into ropes, then maybe I would bump it up 0.5 higher. Also, since this was on a holiday trip, I don't really care about the price, but if it were my main gym, the price point would be way too high for what it offers. But overall, I would say this is likely a sub 3 star climbing gym; not great but not terrible.
