This was honestly the worst swimming experience I’ve ever had, although I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the staff — everyone we spoke to was friendly and helpful. The problem is the design and logic of the whole place. When we arrived with our 2-year-old daughter, we couldn’t find the family changing room. We were eventually told it was upstairs, so we walked through a long corridor and up the stairs, only to find a small shared family changing room with everyone’s shoes left messily outside. After changing our daughter, we realised there didn’t seem to be anywhere for the parents to change. There were only three showers and an exit. We went downstairs to look for another changing room, but by then everyone around us was already in swimwear, so it felt very awkward walking around fully dressed. In the end, we went back and used the men’s changing room with our daughter. It took us around 20 minutes just to get changed. The adventure pool itself was also disappointing. It is quite small, and our daughter didn’t really enjoy any of the pools. The hot pool was too warm for a 2-year-old, the large wave pool was too cold, and the small play pool with fountains had a better temperature but was very crowded. I also went to buy some snacks and was told that the snack bar inside the adventure pool closes at 11:20, and that we would have to leave the swimming area if we wanted food. That seems very strange, especially before noon. Leaving was another frustrating experience. In the family changing room, the locker doors open directly above the bench, which makes it difficult to sit and get dressed. We put our socks on, but our shoes were outside the changing room, meaning we either had to walk across the wet floor in socks or walk barefoot through a narrow, crowded entrance to reach them. We only stayed for about two hours, but the whole experience felt unnecessarily complicated and poorly designed, especially for families with small children.
