Location location location! The establishment has been here for ages and it's sort of an "institution". Food is ok on the greasy spoon side Road side food. Busy at times.

Another Disappointment. Down to One Star. After four or five visits to Hardys in Höör, I have finally run out of reasons to return. This time, I ordered a 200g hamburger with all the trimmings, mashed potatoes instead of bread, and traditional Swedish shrimp salad. What arrived was a burger inside a bun, with mashed potatoes on the side. I had to dismantle the entire thing myself and discard the bread. The mashed potatoes tasted suspiciously like instant powdered mash, certainly nothing resembling homemade potatoes. The shrimp salad tasted more like västkustsallad, with an overpowering dill flavour that I found nauseating. Once again, disappointing food and not what I ordered. Previous experiences have been equally miserable. Tasteless beef patties, burnt-tasting gravy, fishy onions and a pork schnitzel so uninspiring that I eventually gave it to my dogs. The overall impression is of a kitchen relying heavily on ready-made products rather than genuine cooking. There was one remarkable improvement, however. For the first time in all my visits, a member of staff actually made eye contact with me! The service was slightly friendlier, although it still felt rather forced. Perhaps I keep returning because I remember the wonderful Swedish roadside grills and Sibylla hamburger stands of the 1990s, when even a simple burger with homemade mashed potatoes could be absolutely delicious. Sadly, those memories seem to belong to another century. Hardys occupies a convenient location in Höör and always seems busy. Perhaps a steady supply of customers makes improvement unnecessary. The premises are clean, the atmosphere reasonably cosy and the prices affordable. Unfortunately, none of that compensates for consistently dreadful food and indifferent service. I previously lowered my rating to two stars. After yet another disappointment, it is now one. Nostalgia brought me back. Reality has finally convinced me to stay away.
