Warning: System failure or poor handling? On Friday, April 10th, I visited this H&M branch to buy socks for my daughter after returning from Kiruna as we had only thermo socks. At checkout, I was directed to use a second payment machine next to a staff member. I tapped my card to pay and left without receiving a receipt. As I was about to exit, the alarm went off. A male staff member stopped me, asked to search my bag, and asked me to prove that I had paid. I returned to the machine and asked the nearby female staff member to confirm, but she said she saw me at the machine and could not confirm whether payment was completed. I then asked the staff to check the POS system or CCTV. Instead, I was told they could not verify it and asked me to show my bank transaction. I felt this was inappropriate, as it involves private financial information. The staff insisted that I pay again, despite my explanation that card transactions may not appear immediately and would only be visible the next day. I was told that without proof, I had to pay again if I wanted to keep the socks. I explained my situation and said I would return with proof the next day. This situation was extremely embarrassing.
