I went to a beginner class and found out that the entire class was focused on choreography that the group had already been learning for five weeks. It was my first time taking the class, so I was completely lost from the start. The studio uses a class card system that allows people to drop into classes at any time instead of singing up for a course, which made me assume the class would be suitable for newcomers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. When I asked the teacher if it would be the same choreography the following week, she said yes, which made it clear that the class was continuing as an ongoing course rather than being structured for new participants to join. I left almost in tears because I couldn’t keep up at all. What was supposed to be a beginner class felt humiliating for the entire hour. Unfortunately, this experience has put me off both the studio and the style of dance itself. I won’t be returning.

Easy to find, I had a dance choreo class with Hilma and it was just what I needed. Everyone was so nice and Hilma had such a good energy. 10/10 recommend l✨
