I have been visiting Crossroads Malmö almost every day for the past 3 weeks and there is only one word that comes to my mind in order to describe the employees and the volunteers of this place: heroes! The visitors of this much needed space are mixed in nature: the majority are Roma (integration is not an option here); some are frustrated unemployed without a laptop (me for example) who come for the opportunity to use a computer and to print a resume which would be otherwise difficult considering the limited computer time allowed in the public library (25 minutes) and the awkward printing system which eats up most of your time; some others are people without a goal in life who join in for the opportunity of a free breakfast and a warm place to stay at for a few hours; and the list of different and difficult to deal with individuals who visit Crossroads could go on and on for days and I bet even a psychiatrist would have a hard time defining who they are, what they are looking for and which would be the best way to help them out! In my personal case, not only I have received very valuable advice and counseling on how to in Malmö and Sweden in general, but most importantly I never felt judged by anybody regardless of my level of frustration and/or stress. I think Lisandro Clerici Saltalamacchia of the previous review should at least try to engage in the easy exercise of putting himself in somebody else's shoes in order to understand a little better this reality and the hard work the HEROES of Crossroads accomplish. What are they supposed to be doing? Chain people to their chairs? Give me a break, please..... More over, I wish to thank all of the HEROES at Crossroads from the bottom of my heart for the help I have received and I wish to appeal to all the members of the beautiful community of Malmö and organisations involved to keep the funding flowing for this place: it gives dignity back to people who might think they have lost it all....
