April 2025, original post: Botched a pair of Louboutins by doing an awful paint job, changing their sole, and changing the heel caps to unfitting ones, without permission. The shoes had come in for a simple gluing, which I was told would be done within a few days and would cost little (about 250kr). After the job, the shoes had also black marks that couldn’t be easily removed. When I pointed this out at the store, I was told that they had come in like that, to which I replied by showing previous photos that that was clearly not the case and that this damage had been done by the store. The store has shown no accountability for the mistake(s), is going back on their promise to correct it (having even implied that to do that they would have to “destroy” the shoes, with no clarification about what that means after I asked), and have kept the shoes now for over 1.5 months. Gives me a feeling that they decide to completely “restore” shoes and do as much work as possible to charge more. The communication has been very unprofessional too. Update, January 2026: Made a complaint to ARN, which did not go through because I did not have photos of the damage this cobbler had done to my shoes. Went to fetch them now and have added photos showing the terrible and unasked for paint job, the poor and inadequate replacement of the soles and heel caps (also not requested), and the black marks left by the cobbler. He had not corrected or restored the damage and unauthorised changes he did to the shoes as he had promised, and did not provide a document declaring he would pay for the repairs by another shop as he had later committed to. On top of all, today, he tried to force me to pay him 1250kr. He also does not provide any official document with the services requested and the amount agreed to be paid, to then argue that “in a phone call” that he does not have evidence for, the client requested that more changes to the shoes would be done. Terrible service and behavior, borderline illegal, as this may constitute destruction of property.
