On holiday I am usually loyal to the places I go to, especially if the people are nice and I like them but Brod & Salt was the only place where I went to two outlets, the once in Sodermalm where I paid 150 kronor for salad and then went back to my hotel to punch myself many times in the face in front of the mirror for handing over my hard earned cash for what was basically - uncooked vegetables cut up into tiny pieces and here on Sveavagen. My coffee and kanelbulle needs were met in other places so this was an occasional stop and this day was one of those days when I walked in - it was a nice sunny day in March and I was in a happy place inside and out and I thought 'why not treat yourself to a big old Swedish cake.' When it was my turn to be served, I had my eye on this big creamy monstrosity sat right behind the counter and I goes. 'I will have that please.' I said pointing to this big creamy cake and the lady walks away and I goes. 'Excuse me, that's the one I want, if you just put it on a plate, I can pay for it and walk away and eat it, thank you.' And she goes 'you can't have it.' And I then go 'eh, why can't I?' And she goes 'It's not real, it's made out of modelling clay, you won't like the taste of it, I'll make a fresh one for you right now and you'll really like it, I promise.' And I goes 'Oh, OK' as I then stood there, looking and feeling like an absolute cretin. So, the nice lady goes and basically designs and builds a semla right in front of my very eyes and it just came out looking majestic - towards the end when she hands me over the completed semla - she reminded me of Demi Moore completing the clay vase in the film 'Ghost'— and I was the fat, cake-eating version of Patrick Swayze, except I was alive and ready and eager to stuff my face. I was amazed with the end result - it looked even better than the model behind the counter and I told her this which made her happy! I paid for my semla and sat down to eat it, it was hard to find a spot because it was lunch time and pretty full but I managed to find a spot next to this office worker who was eating salad and being from the north west of England. I thought I would share some empathy with my new dining companion of the trials and tribulations of eating salad. 'Salad eh?' I said to him, nodding to his plate of tuna, mayonnaise and uncooked vegetables in front of him with a mixture of sympathy and regret as I tried my best to console him 'I know how you feel mate! I eat that too back home but no chance of me eating salad on holiday because who does that when I can have semla which it will be for you in a few months from now and you'll be able to eat whatever you want, sat by the pool with the wife and kids. I take it you're on your lunch break! How's things at work?' He completely ignored me as he then went back to munching on 160 kronor lettuce with a look of what could be construed as mild annoyance on his face — as though he were about to swat a fly that had landed on the tip of his nose. . I didn't care because it was true - I was on holiday - in Sweden! In March! Being there was amazing, as was the semla! I ate it all and licked the back of my spoon, bade farewell to my dining companion (he didn't bid me farewell in return) and the nice folks behind the counter (who did) and never went back. Would I have had that in Acapulco, Bali or Santorini? The answer is of course 'no' So for that, I have to give it five stars.

New faces with lack of customer service knowledge and salad for 220 kr ! They charg you for the massive dish as well which you can't eat .. ridiculously expensive .. would I lunch here again ? Of course Noooot 👎

Sämsta servicen! Vi beställde en lemonad och det smakade bara vatten med en skiva citron i, när jag frågar dem varför jag har fått vatten så säger tjejen i kassan att det finns sirap i den men det ligger längst ner och vi har tyvärr slut på sugrör för och röra om. Då säger jag men hur kan du servera det till mig i såfall? Hon står där och tänker sen så säger hon men jag kan röra om den åt dig, med ett otrevligt ansikte som om vi var en börda.

Stockholm’de ilk öğünümü otelime çok yakın olan bu şubede aldım. Çalışanlar çok sempatik. Ürünler çok lezzetliydi.

Salad bar for lunch. Both me and my lunch company got food poisoning - and we ate different things. Good for coffee, avoid anything food-related.
