i’ve been living her the past couple of months and i’m super glad i chose this accommodation for my exchange! i study at lund university and it’s quite easy to get to malmö station, take a 10-17 min train to lund, and get to class. i did buy a bike so it’s unfortunate that they’re changing the train rules from November 1st 2026 so bikes aren’t allowed during peak hours, but it’s still quite a manageable commute with buses or walking instead of biking. my room is also amazing and i really appreciate having my own kitchenette and ensuite bathroom with everything i need, and the shared kitchens with the microwaves, ovens, and bigger fridge/freezers are super helpful. i love having the study room and the gym in the one building as well, especially as it’s now winter and i don’t want to head outside in the cold so super convenient to not have to leave the building to work out. it’s such a convenient location too right by a massive supermarket and not far from a cheaper lidl either, lots of bus stops close by, and lots of food places around too. just like anything in life it’s not completely perfect as sometimes lifts or washing machines go out of order or other residents leave a bit of a mess in the shared kitchens, but i definitely don’t have any major issues. all the perks do come at a bit of a price as rent is quite expensive, but i think it’s worth it for the comfortability and convenience of the place as well as the events that are run and the facilities. one of my favourite things about the place is the “sharing is caring” room where people can leave belongings they don’t want anymore or can’t take with them when they leave, and they’re free to take for current residents. i wish i had discovered it on my first day before i went and bought plates and cups when there are plenty available for free! overall it’s great accommodation for students and i recommend considering living here!

Honestly, one of the best accommodation experiences I have had, and I have lived in many countries around the world. This place is run with high standards and friendliness, and there is a true sense of camadery and support. Thank you for such a great time!

Tldr: A lot small annoyances, expensive, worth if you don't anywhere else cheaper. Place too small for the price. Expensive compared to other options and it keeps going up. Events are cool if you go to them but besides the monthly shitty party it's always full. Bathroom shower clogged every 2 washes and it could drown the whole bathroom (even half the room if it's a long shower). Pressure was on point though. The extra rooms like small gym and study room etc are cool and convinient but I rarely used them, not worth the extra price. A lot of people complained about the temperature, mine was steady at a 23C so no complains there. Shared kitchen is cool but never talked to any of the neighbors. Walls are super thick so no sound issues. Having no queue is cool. Wouldn't recomend unless you cant find anything else. 2/3 month leave notice which kinda locks you in your place throughout your studies, basically gambling if you ever wanna change. Laundry is pay per wash, with no control over detergent. Machine is small too. No laundry booking, people regularly complained of having no space. Trash handling is horrible. Every time you want to throw trash away your only option is outside. 9 different recycle bins total, and you have no space for 9 trash bags in your rooms, which means every little thing forces you to go outside to throw it out (which is annoying especially if you live in a high floor). Only one key. Around 70€ if you loose it, and fee to open door if you leave it inside. Doors lock automatically. Silver lining is you can use your phone to open it since there's a (buggy) android app. A lot of spiders. A. Lot. Big ones too. If you're an arachnophobe do not open the window. You will have spiders throughout the year. Fridge in the room is too loud. Almost impossible to sleep. Can be turned off and you can use the one in the kitchen, which is almost always empty. Sharing room is great. It's a place where neighbors leave stuff and take stuff. I suggest you visit it instead of getting the welcome package. Whatever is missing, ikea is only a bus line away. Location is really good but away from city life. Its just by the cheapest supermarket, and a lot of (expensive) restaurants around. Walking distance from Malmo university and Malmo C. Big and great sidewalks too. Super close to the docks, beautiful view of the oresund bridge, bikable distance to the (shitty) beaches. Free outdoor car parking just by it. Public cheap bikes by it (often with no bikes). Kinda far from other student apartments and night life, but a lot of great busses around the area.

Living abroad sometimes can be difficult, so it's for that you need to choose the right place to live. Basecamb by xior Malmö is a good place to meet new people, do lots of activities and be safe. I recommend a lot this student housing
