The car was great, just as expected. Picking up the car was quick and easy via the airport service desk. The only downside is that there is no regular public transport to the airport; the nearest bus stop is 900 meters away. This could be an issue if you have a lot of luggage. Alternatively, you can take a taxi.

I booked through a third party, and discovered on the day that the booking was for the day after. The pickup was scheduled at a regional swedish airport after business hours, late in the evening. I rang the local AVIS office and without any issue they made sure the car was there to pick up after i landed.

Getting the car key was smooth, small airport and efficient service. However the car was parked outside, very cold and I had to scrape the windows before being able to drive. The next day I called Avis customer service (the number was on the document I got when I collected the key) and asked if I could leave the car in another city. Customer service confirmed that this was possible for an extra charge of 625 SEK. However afterwards I was charged much more than that. When I called the office in Linköping they explained that the answer that customer service provided me was incorrect. However I made my decision based on the information provided that the customer service provided. I have emailed them to claim the additional payment back - still waiting for a reply.

Lätt tillgänglig hyrbilsdel inne på flygplatsen. Parkeringen för hyrbilarna är lätt att hitta och man är ute på de större vägarna inom ett par minuter. Rekommenderar varmt Avis på Linköping Airport 👍
