I was attending a festival at 2024, and it was great, the place is really good, and well organized, the people are kind. My review is specifically about the clothes store. Despite the fact that I had a great customer experience, that quality of the clothes turned out to be really poor. At first glance, the materials looked and felt like high quality organic, hand-made clothing. I trusted the seller selling high quality products, which turned out to be a mistake. Only two weeks after the festival some pieces already ripped, even tough they were not under heavy duty. When I tried to repair, a few pieces actually started shredding (the structural fibers completely disintegrate) to an extent of making repair impossible. The remaining pieces of the clothes keep fraying, the threads at the edge of the fabric are regularly separate from the weave, and needs a constant and frequent repair to keep them together. To be fair, 3 out of 8 clothes are in a great shape, and needed no maintenance so far. I am sorry to leave this review, as I had a great time in Angsbacka, and specially in the clothes shop, and really don't get why does it make sense to sell such poor quality fabric for premium organic pricing.

Not recommended for evolved souls. Stressfull place for sensitive beings.

RapporteraSo very weird that this place calls it self a community as everyone and everything they teaches is centeret and directed at the self. Maybe it’s because they are absorbed by the most individualist time in human history that they cannot see how anything common/community-wise is possible without the self as the rotating-axis.
RapporteraThere seems to be plenty of reviews from shorter term visitors but a lack of reports from a longer-term perspective, so I will share mine. I volunteered here for about 8 months. This place has a lot to offer and can be a great starting point for exploring alternative ways of living — but in my experience, it’s not a place I would recommend staying at longer-term. One of the biggest challenges was the lack of space to be alone. With so many people around, it was hard to go into depth with connections, and especially in the colder months there are very few places to retreat. Even more extroverted people seemed to reach their limits with this. The workshops vary a lot in quality. Some are really great. In many cases though, I had the impression that people treated it more like a playground, and the responsibility of holding space wasn’t always taken as seriously as I would have expected — also during festivals. When it comes to work, I experienced quite a bit of frustration around inefficiency. Yes, I learned to be more relaxed and less rigid — but at the same time, there are many things that could easily be improved. Basic equipment like proper tools or kitchen knives would already save hours of work. Some tasks felt unnecessarily repetitive or poorly organized. I also clearly felt a difference between short-term and long-term volunteers. Not all voices seemed to carry the same weight. While there was a culture of listening, decisions appeared to be made within a smaller circle. To me, it felt much more hierarchical and business-oriented than I had expected. I came with the idea of a community that primarily serves the people living there, with courses supporting that — but it became apparent very quickly that the community exists to serve the courses. This also showed in everyday things: volunteers didn’t have access to the same spaces or food as participants, and were at times asked to stay out of areas even when they weren’t in use, and what’s more, areas even got locked so volunteers couldn’t use them. For me, that created a clear sense of separation which seemed a bit contrary to the mantra of “there’s no separation” that is so frequently sung there. It’s one thing to sing about how we want life, and another to live like it. The way I experienced it, ÄB is still learning to practice what it preaches. In summer, the whole place changes again. With hundreds of people there, it becomes very loud and intense. If you’re sleeping in shared spaces like the barn, getting proper rest can be challenging, even with earplugs. The festivals differ a lot. Some felt very well held and grounded (Sessibility, Sound, Midsummer, No Mind), others (esp. Tattra) didn’t resonate with me in terms of depth of facilitation. Among volunteers in the summer, there is quite a strong focus on casual connections / relating. That can be part of the experience, but I would recommend being very clear about your boundaries, as not everyone approaches dating in a conscious or respectful way here. I of course also have to give ÄB some credit. I love the practice of sharing, and I learned a lot about many different things here. It is great if you are lost and are looking for a place to catch you and get you back on your feet. It is a great place to let you just be you. That in itself is a beautiful gift to offer to the world, and a rare one. In conclusion, I see it as a great place to learn — especially around saying no, holding your boundaries, and speaking your truth. It’s a valuable experience I would recommend to almost anyone for a shorter period of time (looking back, 1-3 months is likely enough to really get a feel for this place, but ofc this differs and I am also glad I stayed longer and got to a point of being quite frustrated which might have not come if I had left earlier). It became very clear that for me, this is not a place I’d choose as a long-term home because it just does not live up to the term of being a community.
