My partner and I visited this lovely museum today. There was no charge for entry (nor the ability to make a voluntary contribution). The man working there was friendly and helpful. For a museum of it's size and location I thought the exhibits had been expertly curated. The range of material covered was really impressive and I loved the fourth floor in particular. If you do not read Swedish (as I don't) then obviously you will require more time, but I would not be deterred by this.

I visited last month to see the light show, and it was absolutely beautiful! The whole town looked magical, especially with the lights reflecting over the water. They also had a mobile app showing all six points of decoration and light installations, which made it easy to explore everything. Every spot was so mesmerizing and perfectly arranged. it truly felt like walking through a dream. I’m so happy I visited, such a wonderful experience

A small, well-maintained museum with local charm Alingsås Museum may be small in size, but it's thoughtfully arranged and well maintained. The exhibits offer an interesting overview of the town’s history, including themes like the local textile industry, traditional crafts, and daily life in earlier times. It's a quiet and informative place to spend about an hour, especially if you enjoy learning about local culture and heritage. The museum is clean and organized, and it even has toilet facilities inside, which is convenient for visitors. While it’s not a destination museum, it’s definitely worth a one-time visit if you’re in or around Alingsås. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. A nice little cultural stop in a charming town.
